Company History
Allen Corporation of America, Inc. is a professional services company offering industry-leading information technology and training solutions to the private and public sectors. Founded by A. Carl von Sternberg, Allen is a small business with headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia and offices throughout the United States and in Europe. Allen’s rapid growth has been recognized both regionally and nationally with awards from Washington Technology and Inc. magazines, and Deloitte and Touche. Allen’s attention to detail and superior contract performance have earned it a reputation as a leader in the fields of IT security, logistical operations, training, enterprise management, network engineering, and telecommunications.
Allen’s rapid growth has been fueled organically and through key acquisitions. Mr. von Sternberg acquired Hardware Solutions, Inc. a WAN (Wide Area Network) company in 2001. Founded in 1995 HSI provided services to some of the world’s leading telecommunications companies. Mr. von Sternberg also acquired Property Technologies, Ltd., a telephone interconnect company founded in 1982 with a strong presence in the hospitality industry and a platinum Mitel VAR with over 2600 clients in 42 states.
Contributing significantly to its growth in the public sector was the acquisition of Synoptic Systems Corporation in 2002. With the acquisition of Synoptic Systems, a company with 30 years of experience in Automated Logistics Systems Support (including acquisition, maintenance, property accountability, subsistence management, supply, and transportation) and Logistic System Life-Cycle Support (design, development, testing, deployment, operation, training, documentation and post-deployment support), Allen established itself as a leading provider of automated logistics systems expertise to the US Army. Effective June, 2003, all three companies (HSI, Wright Company, and Synoptic Systems) were merged into Allen Corporation of America, Inc.
Allen’s acquisition of WetStone Technologies in 2007 immediately positioned the Company as an IT Security market leader, particularly in the areas of malware and steganography investigations, live forensics, and biometrics. Allen’s WetStone division was recognized with a 2007 Tibbetts Award by the Small Business Technology Council for its research in the area of biometric “liveness.”
Allen’s contract vehicles include a GSA IT Schedule, GSA LogWorld, FIRST, and OPM/TMA.
